I hiked the Jura Crest Trail in my typical style: Big miles and long hours. I absolutely loved it. By now (winter 2019) I have done all sections several times.

The landscape in the Jura in north-wester Switzerland is breathtaking. I like it more than the impressive Alps in Switzerland. It just leaves you with the impression to be much more out in nature.

In the Alps there where far too many touristy towns, where I didn’t feel comfortable as a somehow serious hiker. There are some steep inclines in the Jura as well but usually you are on top again after half an hour.

Fans of military history can find some ugly bunkers and tank barriers along the way. And even memorials for antifascist resistance.
